Project Ohm qualifies as an Early Stage Innovation Company
With our 2026 R&D Tax Incentive registration accepted, Project Ohm qualifies under the Early Stage Innovation Company 100-point innovation test.
Following acceptance of our 2026 R&D Tax Incentive registration, Project Ohm now qualifies under the Early Stage Innovation Company (ESIC) 100-point innovation test.
For eligible new investors, this means investments in Project Ohm may qualify for the Australian Government's ESIC tax incentives, including:
- a tax offset (subject to eligibility requirements); and
- capital gains tax concessions where the legislative requirements are met.
The qualification is based on satisfying the innovation test, including:
- more than 50% of the company's previous year's expenditure being eligible R&D activities; and
- more than $50,000 previously invested by third parties in newly issued shares (the ATO's test (opens in a new tab)).
As discussions continue around Australia's innovation ecosystem and investment settings, it's encouraging to reach another milestone that helps reduce barriers for early-stage investors while we continue developing a new category of grid-responsive AI infrastructure.
