Project Ohm today announced a strategic investment from XENON, establishing a long-term partnership to accelerate the deployment of Australia's first distributed, energy-aware AI infrastructure platform.

The investment represents more than a capital commitment. It formalises a strategic relationship that combines Project Ohm's energy orchestration software with XENON's internationally recognised expertise in high-performance computing, AI infrastructure and NVIDIA accelerated computing platforms.

Together, the organisations will work to deliver distributed AI infrastructure capable of operating as flexible demand within electricity networks, enabling AI compute to dynamically respond to renewable energy availability and grid conditions.

Project Ohm Founder and CEO Matthew Meszaros said the partnership represents a significant milestone in bringing the company's vision to market.

"From the beginning, our vision has been to transform AI infrastructure from a static energy consumer into an active participant in the electricity system.

Having XENON invest directly in Project Ohm validates both our technology and the enormous opportunity to build a new category of energy-aware AI infrastructure.

This partnership gives us access to XENON's engineering capability, supply chain expertise and deep experience delivering enterprise AI infrastructure globally."

XENON has worked closely alongside Project Ohm throughout the development of its platform, contributing technical architecture, GPU infrastructure expertise and engineering support during the company's early research and development phase.

As part of the partnership, the companies have also entered into a long-term strategic supply relationship under which XENON will support the delivery of future Project Ohm deployments through an open-book procurement model covering AI compute infrastructure, modular data centre systems and associated hardware.

The investment comes as Project Ohm continues to gain momentum across industry and government, including Node 01, our first commercial-scale deployment, being developed in Geraldton on the Western Power network, support from the Mid West Development Commission, ongoing research activities at the Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre, and progression of a major ARENA grant application.

Unlike conventional data centres that consume electricity regardless of network conditions, Project Ohm's software platform continuously orchestrates AI workloads against live energy market signals, renewable generation availability and distribution network constraints.

This enables distributed AI infrastructure to become a flexible grid resource while simultaneously delivering high-performance AI compute.

Dragan Dimitrovici, CEO of XENON, said the partnership reflects a shared vision for the future of AI infrastructure.

"The future of AI infrastructure will require far greater integration between compute, energy and intelligent orchestration.

Project Ohm has developed an innovative approach that aligns AI compute with electricity networks in a way that we believe has significant global potential. We are excited to support the company as both a strategic investor and long-term technology partner."

The partnership also positions Project Ohm to accelerate deployment of its distributed AI infrastructure platform across Australia before expanding internationally through partnerships with utilities, infrastructure operators and enterprise customers.

As global investment in AI infrastructure continues to accelerate, Project Ohm believes distributed, grid-aware compute will become an increasingly important component of future electricity systems, helping unlock greater renewable energy utilisation while delivering scalable AI capacity closer to where energy is generated.
